Eye examinations are an important way of monitoring both your optical and general health. Here at Masons Avenue Opticians we recommend an enhanced eye exam on a 2 yearly basis, with the exceptions being children, contact lens wearers and people with certain medical conditions who should be seen annually.
After noting any history or eye symptoms you may have, our Optometrists will carry out detailed examinations to determine your refractive error as well as check the general health of your eyes and surrounding tissues using some of the latest equipment available. Supplementary examinations may be carried out if necessary.
NHS funded sight tests are available upon request. Corporate Funded Examinations are administered through our Corporate Partner Scheme. Information on this and all of our Clinical Services are available upon request.
At Masons Avenue Opticians and St Swithins Opticians, we are committed to delivering the highest standard of eye care to every patient — whether visiting privately or through occupational health. That’s why we always provide an NHS Enhanced Eye Examination, ensuring each patient benefits from the latest technology and a more detailed clinical assessment.
We believe this enhanced approach goes beyond the standard NHS test and is essential for identifying early signs of eye disease, managing visual strain from digital devices, and maintaining long-term eye health.
The NHS Enhanced Exam includes all elements of a standard NHS sight test (if you are eligible), plus additional high-level diagnostics and expert support. This exam is designed to give a deeper, more complete picture of your eye health.
If you're eligible for an NHS sight test, we apply the NHS subsidy to reduce your enhanced exam fee.
